The total employment for Maryland is 2,748,200, which is -4,100 less than last month, a decrease of 0.15%. The total employment a year ago was 2,745,800, which is 2,400 lower than today. The unemployment rate decreased in July, 2019 from 3.8% to this months' 3.8%. A year ago the unemployment rate was 3.9%, 0.1% lower today. The total workforce in July, 2019 was 3,233,114, which is 0.3% higher than last months 3,223,860 and is 0.3% higher than last years 3,196,037. The total number of unemployed in Maryland is 122,064 as compared to the revised figure from last month of 121,902 and 124,752 unemployed a year ago.
