The unemployment rate decreased in July, 2019 from 3.5% to this months' 3.4%. A year ago the unemployment rate was 3.7%, 0.3% lower today. The total workforce in July, 2019 was 531,966, which is 0.1% higher than last months 531,175 and is 0.1% higher than last years 528,762. The total number of unemployed in Montana is 17,863 as compared to the revised figure from last month of 18,443 and 19,497 unemployed a year ago.
