The total employment for Oregon is 1,944,200, which is 2,400 greater than last month, an increase of 0.12%. The total employment a year ago was 1,907,800, which is 36,400 lower than today. Employment has increased by 1.91% in the last year. Last months' employment total was revised from 1,941,800 to 1,943,700. This revision is a change of 0.10% from the preliminary numbers.

The Trade, Transport and Utilities sectors are the leading employers in Oregon. There are 354,700 employees in the sector. Last month the sector had 353,700 employees last month, an increase of 1,000 (0.28%). Last year the sector had 351,900 employees last year, an increase of 2,800 (0.80%).

A year ago, the average hours worked was 38.9 hourse per week, which is a decrease of 3.9%. Hourly wages have increased over the last year from $21.28 per hour, an increase of 6.5%. Weekly wages have increased over the last year from $827.79 per week, an increase of 2.4%.

The unemployment rate decreased in July, 2019 from 4.0% to this months' 4.0%. A year ago the unemployment rate was 4.0%, 0.0% lower today. The total workforce in July, 2019 was 2,115,242, which is 0.1% lower than last months 2,117,282 and is -0.1% higher than last years 2,099,851. The total number of unemployed in Oregon is 84,322 as compared to the revised figure from last month of 85,720 and 83,881 unemployed a year ago.
